Volunteer Your Time
If you are a retired teacher and would like to instruct our women, please contact us at opword@optonline.net. Volunteers can volunteer one or more days a week between the hours of 9am and 1pm. Days are flexible according to your life schedule.
Employer-Matched Gifts
Many companies will match donations made by their employees to non-profit charitable organizations such as The Opening Word. Please check with your company’s benefits coordinator on eligibility.
Partners for Empowerment Program
The latest funding initiative is our Partners for Empowerment Program, which enables donors to contribute automatically a set monthly donation (minimum $10). These donations, small or large, have become a valuable source of income. So far, our partners contribute from $10 to $200 per month, according to their means. One partner was enthusiastic, calling it a simple, consistent way to donate without having to think about the next contribution. It insures the Opening Word a base monthly income.
